As I said earlier, one of Nathaniel's birthday gifts was a trip to Zion National Park. Chris had a conference in St. George for work, so we decided to all go together and make a little vacation out of it. We had so much fun just being together.
We drove down Sunday evening (after a wonderful Mothers Day, thanks to my amazing family) and got up Monday morning to head over to Zion. The weather was warm but not blazing hot, and of course the park was gorgeous as always. I have about a zillion photos to post, so get ready.
Bradley on the bus, which the kids really enjoyed riding.

Hiking to the Emerald Pools.
Chris couldn't figure out why Joseph kept smacking him with the Camel Back hose, until he realized the valve was shut and the boy couldn't get any water. To show his disdain, he ripped the bite valve off and threw it down along the trail -- amazingly, we found it on the way back down.
The poor baby was just thirsty!

Lindsey is always ready to strike a pose.

Four cute kids in a cave.

Joseph does a little bit of climbing . . . so happy to be out of his backpack.

Having a much-needed ice cream break at the lodge. That was some of the best soft serve I've ever had, and the kids loved it.

Riding in style.

And now for a quick nap. . .

Checking out some tadpoles in the river. I love this shot of the three of them together.

Such a handome boy!

Joseph loved every chance to get out and walk around.

Nathaniel was pretty happy to receive a special delivery to the hotel -- a balloon bouquet and jelly beans from TwoE, Pa, and the Cochrans.

Checking out the view of beautiful St. George.

On Tuesday we visited Brigham Young's summer home, which was really cool. I was glad to see the kids were really interested in it and seemed to enjoy themselves. Here Lindsey and Bradley hang out in the super old mullberry (I think it was) tree.

Our tour guide was a really cool sister missionary who was great with the kids. They followed her around outside, checking out all the crops.

That night things got really exciting -- it was time for the one thing they had all been really, really ancitipating with eagerness . . . swimming in the hotel pool!!!

Three great hikers.

Hanging out in the Temple of Sinewava -- what a gorgeous place, there by the river!

Chillin' on the bus.
Bradley never ceases to amaze me with the absolutely hilarious things he says. We were riding on the bus, and the driver started talking over the loudspeaker. Bradley says, "Hmmmm. So that's what Dave M. sounds like." That kid is too funny!!!

Joseph was very excited, too!
Hanging out in the room at the Crystal Inn -- a place that looks really nice in the photos online, but don't be fooled.
I love this photo of my beautiful daughter, but those skinny legs in the background crack me up.

Nathaniel's birthday dinner that night was at a place he really loves (and he's not the only one), the delicious In-N-Out. Yum, and yum again.

After dinner we visited the beautiful grounds of the beautiful St. George Temple. I always love the opportunity to take the kids to visit the temple; I feel like there is always a wonderful Spirit that they can really feel.

Joseph was actually NOT too enthusiastic about it at first. Even his floaty suit did little to make him feel secure.
