Check Out My Cute Baby, You Guys!!

Hey everyone! Just a quick post with more photos of our new pride and joy. He's doing very well and is finally eating as he should be -- now he's absolutely ravenous!!!

We set up the swing, and he seems to dig it.

On the way to the doctor . . . he is not happy at all about it.

Still not happy . . .

Could you die?? How I love little feet!

Snoozing with dad.

Big brother Bradley gets some love. Joseph's expression is funny. He looks shocked.

A little tummy time.

He's trying to make the sign for "I love you."

My wonderful kids. Ah, the joy and happiness.

More Photos

I found a few more pictures of Joseph; these were on the other camera which I forgot to check at first.

Arial view.

Getting dressed to go home from the hospital. Aunt Manda bought him this adorable red suit which looked great with his dark hair. He looked so handsome.

Could he be any cuter!!?

Lindsey proudly shows off her shirt that proclaims her new title.

Happiness Is a Thing Called Joe

(No, we aren't shortening his name to Joe; it's the title of a Judy Garland song. More apt is Happiness is a thing called Joseph.)

It's been just over a week since the newest love of our lives came into the world, and we are enjoying getting to know him. I must say he's pretty darn cute, and he's so yummy we have to really fight our temptations to devour him.

Here are some of the latest photos of my beautiful boy.

This is obviously from the hospital and not new, but I had to post it; it's so cute how Joseph seems to be winking at Chris and saying, "Hey dad."

Chilling in his bouncy seat, which he loves. He's like me already -- we both have to keep a foot out of the blankets lest we get too hot.

Lindsey (with chapped lips and dirty face) poses with her new favorite belonging. She is nuts about her baby brother.

Who, me?

All our little helpers assist dad with a diaper change. They are all totally smitten with Joseph and fall all over themselves to do whatever they can for him.

With big brother Bradley.

Making eyes at Aunt Mel.

Look at those toes peeking out. YUM!

He always seems deep in thought.

Getting love from the sibs. Dad looks kinda tired.

I have to say, having a new baby around is just the most incredible thing. There really aren't words to describe how I feel -- I'm so full of love and joy and adoration that I could explode. I love to sit and stare at him, wondering what he is thinking and what secrets he could tell me if only he were able. I'm so grateful to Heavenly Father for the extreme blessing that is motherhood and for the feelings that go along with that. I know He has given me that rush of joy, that immediacy and intensity of love that I feel for Joseph. It's pure happiness.

Recent Happenings

Yes, I'm still pregnant -- let's just establish that from the start! Since this baby won't come willingly, it looks like I will be induced Tuesday morning. What happened to Monday, you say? No inductions on a holiday, says the hospital. So another agonizing 24 hours have been added.

Anyway, here's what we've been up to. Chris, Mel, and Matt took the kids sledding on a very cold and wet afternoon. I think they had a lot of fun, although Lindsey and Bradley each got pretty nervous and uncomfortable. Nathaniel had a blast -- it was his first time NOT getting pretty nervous and uncomfortable, so that was great.

Lindsey and Dad get ready for a run.

Uncle Matt helps Bradley pull his sled up the hill.

This shot cracks me up.

See, one looks happy, and one looks nervous.

Having a great time.

We had a little belated birthday party for both Uncles Matt and Pat. Mel made them a delicious carrot cake. The kids love goofing off with their uncles.

And just goofing off in general. . .

Mel made Lindsey a little skirt out of all her ribbons. Of course she loved it.

Nathaniel had a career dress up day at school. He wants to be a video game designer, but he didn't think he could dress like one, so he wore this awesome flight suit that his Uncle Josh (in the Air Force) sent him long ago. Look, Jorsh, it finally fits!

Well, that's our latest. We are eagerly anticipating a baby around here. Hopefully soon we'll be posting photos of him!!!!
