A Little Innovation

My dear husband received from Brigham Young University the Staff and Administrative Employee Recognition Award for demonstrating Innovation.

Apparently he has saved the school lots of dough, so he was rewarded with the following:

-- A cool trophy thing

-- A sweet gift card to Chef's Table

-- Some cash - nice!

So Chris and I went to eat at this fancy-schmancy restaurant, and it was pretty awesome. I have driven by it for years and never imagined affording it. The prices were actually very reasonable, and the food was delicious.

Chris ordered the beef medallions with horseradish mashed potatoes.

I had the prosciutto stuffed chicken with rice and veggies. Very yummy. If you go, I highly recommend this dish.

For dessert we shared this adorable looking, delicious tasting german chocolate cake.

Thanks, honey, for taking me out on a wonderful date to a great place and for being such a great employee who is more than worthy of such accolades.

1. An innovative husband
2. BYU's recognition of my innovative husband
3. Scrumptious food

Wazzup!

Lots going on all the time around here, and I am not a faithful blogger. ~sigh~

My big 5th grader is now in band, if you can believe it! He was given the choice of band, orchestra, or choir, and he chose band, and he wanted to play the trumpet. (Like his Aunt Becca, by the way.) So this week he came home with his cool new horn, and he's pretty darn excited.

I think he's a natural musician . . . I hope he will enjoy music and dedicate himself to becoming accomplished.

Bradley had to check it out, too.

Loving glances while waiting for Bradley at the bus stop.

A couple of weeks ago, Chris took the kids to the fair in Spanish Fork (or was it Springville?? One of those.) They had such a fun time. Here are a few shots of the excitement.

On the climbing wall and the big jumpy harness thing. They loved it!

Sensibly, my baby girl stuck to safer things.

In my failure to post things on time, I am way behind in announcing that Joseph has been sitting alone, scooting, and sitting himself up for quite some time now. In the last couple of weeks he has started preparing to crawl and pulling himself up on things. Boy, are we in for it! He's got places to go and things to do!

My Guitar Hero! (swoon)

1. Kids who keep me entertained
2. A husband who takes the children fun places
3. A healthy baby who is growing fast
