For Family Home Evening last week, we taught the kids about food storage and let them make some special whole wheat chocolate chip cookies -- I know, sounds delicious, huh?
The coolest part was that the kids got to see the whole process and grind the wheat themselves.

After everyone took a turn at the grinder, they used the flour to make cookies. Chris was in "awesome dad" mode -- patiently allowing them to participate in every step.

It was so fun to see them all working together. The kids loved it!
I'm gonna be honest -- the cookies looked strange. But they turned out to be pretty good, and Joseph absolutely loved them!

It was a great FHE and a fun time together! Thank you, wheat, for making this activity possible.

It looks like Chris deserves some thanks, as well. And whoever cleaned up that mess! haha
I LOVE the picture of Lindsey making the funny face.
Wheat chocolate chip cookies?! Holy Cow, I am going to have to start calling you "homespun". Did you guys move near St. George?
Seriously though, good job.
i think "joseph absolutely loved them" is a bit of an understatement. i'd say something like "threw a royal fit when mel tried to pry the cookies from his clenched fists so she could bath him before he made himself sick!" just a little more descriptive... :)
So cool. We need to have a FHE like that. Right now our focus is on potty words, not fighting and being obedient. Maybe we will make it to food storage one of these days.
Love the pics.
