Most of my favorite memories of Adam involve my kids. He is a wonderful, loving uncle, and I loved to watch the way the children swarmed around him. Lindsey especially was totally in love with her uncle Adam.

Adam checks out Nathaniel's new golf shoes on Christmas morning.

I love this picture. I remember that day -- Adam wanted to lie on the couch and take a Sunday afternoon nap, but he stayed awake to play Uno with the boys.

Adam and Chris drove all the way to Idaho so Adam could buy this bug, and he had big plans for it. He was so proud. I'll never forget all the hours of the two of them rebuilding the engine on my kitchen counter.

Adam's family was in town for a visit at Christmas in 2006, and they came over for a big birthday party for Bradley.

Their wedding day in May 2006 was an amazing experience. Being together in the Manti temple reaffirmed the eternal nature of families, and witnessing the beginning of their little family was a great blessing.

I think what I love and cherish the most about Adam is how supremely happy he made and continues to make my sister. Theirs is a love like you read about in books: perfect and unconditional, and most of all, eternal.

In Adam's honor, we made this cake in the shape of a VW Bug. (It looks like a flat drawing in this photo, but it's really done in 3-D, relief style. It turned out pretty cool.)

Mel and Becca.

Joseph with Uncle Matt.

Bradley with Uncle Pat.

Lindsey just chillin', waiting for a piece of cake.
If any of you are interested in seeing more photos of Adam or in reading the story of Mel and Adam's courtship and marriage, check out Mel's blog at http://mellovesadam.blogspot.com/. She is recounting the details of their time together so far.
Happy birthday, Adam. We love and miss you.

Julie,
I love these pictures and thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing them. I'm very glad that Adam brought all of you into our family.
We miss you all and can barely wait until April to hold darling baby Joseph!
Love you all!
Hey guys, I know that we love upstairs but we don't get to hang out as much as we'd like, but as I was reading this post. I wanted to comment about how in the short time that we knew Adam. We knew he was great. Oscar and Lily still talk about and ask about Adam and where he has gone. We loved how Adam was so wonderful with them. He knew their names and would play with them as if he were their uncle.
This was a very powerful post and expression on the eternal nature of what relationships and families can be. We love you guys.
Adam, you're beacon of light is missed.
Happy Birthday Adam!!! What a great idea and wonderful way to remember him and celebrate his life.
This is a sweet post. It made me emotional. It seems like the very best are called home early because they are so valuable to Heavenly Father. We are simply blessed for the opportunity we had to know them.
Very sweet. Happy birthday Adam!
Beautiful post, Julie, thanks for sharing!
